High and Tired

I've been trying to make these $24.99 mirrors from HomeGoods...

Look like these $425 Silver Nikita Mirrors...

I first painted them and didn't like them, and now have been attempting silver leafing. I spray painted them black and spent two episodes of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (2 hours) last night and two Project Runways 3 hours today. Oh, that was 1 mirror, by the way. I'm tired and the adhesive gives me a migraine and makes me feel high.

Trying to take my mind of my husband deploying this weekend...

I'll show you the finished product when I get them up and running. Oh, and I need to buy new mirror inserts. We broke both taking them apart. Is that 14 years bad luck or how does 2 work???

Hopefully when it's done it will look like this...

updated bedroom

Any projects making you crazy, high, or tired this week???

  3. You should cover the mirrored section with a couple layers of thick card board ( they would have to be cut precise) and then tape the edges with painters tape. Then use a couple of coats of silver spray paint . Then to give it the shine and durability, you can cover with a clear coat. That la what I would do at least : )

  5. Call several places and compare prices before you replace the broken mirrors. I broke some glass on some really big picture frames...Michael's and other framing stores wanted $30 each for the glass (I only paid $25 for the frame originally!). I called a glass company instead (kind-of like my dad's shop) and got the glass for $8 each...that would probably be your best bet for mirror replacements.
